The cucumber plant is a vine crop that spreads out on the ground. It belongs to the Cucurbitaceae family and it is one of the most widely grown.

Cucumbers are available during the whole year, although due to their characteristics, they are especially commercialised in autumn, winter and spring.

Cucumber’s colour is dark green and it is about 4 cm in diameter and usually 15-30 cm long, depending on the variety.
